Weekly Presidents UpdateClub News you can use…Weekly updates SCAC SIMULATOR UPDATE: We are nearly there! Thank you to Lenroy Trimmer, The Sea Eagles including Naomi McQueen, Nathan Korendijk, Mike Mcbeth, and our work experience students Liam and JJ for all having a part in the arranging, the setup of the SIM and putting together of the furniture, frame, and many bits and pieces!. It’s starting to look like a Sim room now. MENTORING PROGRAM As you may have seen on Facebook, we are considering running a mentoring program for our Aviation students and members and are just in the initial stage, taking an expression of interest at the moment from any members who would be interested in the discussion to set up or be part of the program. REGISTER HERE WORK EXPERIENCE This week we have had SEA EAGLES member JJ Guy at the club to take part in his work experience week. The weather proved a lot better than last week and so he was able to take part in a trial introductory flight with Josh. This was of course after he washed the bird poop off the Sling! Work Experience is not just fun and games here! (well it really is) Some photos of his week with us and a big thank you to all our friends around the Aerodrome who helped make the last two weeks of work experience such a success. Advanced Flight Theory AFT/ Flight Options Pilot Acadamy and Flight Simulation/Pacific Crown Helicopters/ Air Services: Control tower and Fire Station/Jetstar Training team/QAM Queensland Air Museum/ ARO Car 1 and 2 and Sunshine Coast Airport. Finally, the weather picked up and JJ was able to take a Trial Introductory Flight with Josh. JJ out on the runway participating in a FOD “Foreign Object Debris” walk for Safety week at Sunshine Coast Airport. COMMUNITY FLIGHTS We welcomed Mark from Community Flights this week in his Piper Arrow. He was transporting some patients who were unable to get through the closed-off roads from the weeks adverse weather. Community Flight is due to officially start at the end of the month and aims at providing a much-needed air transport service for regional QLD.
