This week on International Women’s Day we celebrated with some inspiring Women of Aviation here on the Sunshine Coast .

These Inspiring, passionate and articulate women presented in the hangar to groups of high school students from Coolum State High School, Maroochydore State High School , St. Andrews Anglican College and guests from the airport community.

Morning tea was provided by the Sunshine Coast Airport and the team at Cater Care here at the airport.

Thank you to you all for a wonderful morning and to the team of helpers in organising the day. We were all excited to hear of your journeys to get where you are today and the amazing opportunities the Aviation Industry provides.

Women in Aviation Open Day

A day to inspire, educate and recruit girls and women interested in aviation careers to be held at “ The Queensland Air Museum “ April 15th. Doors open at 10am.

These cheeky birds were a long way from their N.T home. Chased off the runway earlier in the week. They appear for a few weeks each year.

Gliding Day: Postponed

Due to the weather conditions expected this weekend we have had to postpone the Gliding Day. We are currently working on a new date and will advise when this is confirmed.

Cuba St. Coffee

Welcome to our first Aero Club sponsor “Cuba St. Coffee Roasters” If you haven’t already tried there coffee come into the club and for a gold coin donation you wont be disappointed.

Trevor (Scottie) McFarlane has been working on club sponsorships and is delighted to welcome Cuba St. on board as our first. Cuba St. have kindly donated a new coffee machine. Its easy to use and if your unsure Teresa will give you a quick demonstration and sign you off on your coffee making endorsement!.

Keep an eye on the viewing BBQ area over the next few weeks as some café umbrellas arrive. Its looking great out there. Thanks Trev!

The next Sea Eagles meeting will take place at the Club on Thursday the 16th March Stay tuned during the week for the announcement of a very special guest speaker!
