Get Your Navigation Endorsement and fly around Australia!
Description: The navigation endorsement is an ‘add on’ to your RPC and allows you to fly an aeroplane all around Australia!
While most of our student pilots start their navigation training immediately after (or sometimes before) gaining their RPC, Navigation training is a separate endorsement, so can be added to your RPC or RPL at any time.
What can I do?
- Still use your RPC
- Fly anywhere in Australia (excluding controlled aerodromes + airspace – except under supervision at Sunshine Coast).
- Fly solo only (only until you have 10hrs solo and passenger carriage endorsement).
Indicative Cost: $4,500 – $5,500
Our Navigation course utilises simple yet very effective and proven military navigation techniques which make you a far more competent cross country pilot. With the attainment of your PPL you will be able to navigate anywhere around Australia with confidence and show your friends and family the amazing places and sights our beautiful country has to offer.
Our course is divided into three distinct phases which includes 5 dual and 1 solo cross country navigation exercises and a flight test.
PHASE ONE – Covers flight planning and pure navigation techniques. Each lesson is conducted outside controlled airspace to minimise procedures so you can learn to navigate properly from the beginning.
PHASE TWO – Consists of low-level navigation techniques and ‘lost’ procedures
PHASE THREE – Focuses on controlled airspace procedures. At the conclusion of phase three you are ready for your endorsement flight test and ready to navigate confidently anywhere in Australia.
We offer numerous courses to cater to all needs. We specialise in Recreational Pilot Training – as flying is fun for us, however we cater equally for individuals aspiring to be Commercial Pilots and beyond.
Our training is predominantly conducted in Light Sport Aircraft (LSA). These aircraft generally have a maximum weight of 600kg and are registered with Recreational Aviation Australia (RA-Aus). LSA have seen the most rapid developments of aircraft design in the last decade and are significantly more efficient then their predecessors General Aviation types. This allows us to provide the training at an affordable price. Learning on a LSA also is advantageous; their light weight design and high manoeuvrability increases the students awareness to aircraft changes, consequently improving their flying accuracy. LSA provides the ideal foundation to any pilot, regardless of their end goals.
If you’re aspiring to obtain a Private Pilot or Commercial Pilot Licence our courses are the ideal stepping-stone to achieve these licence types.
We offer both full-time and part-time courses. We do recommend flying as much as practical as your learning rate will be higher. We recommend a minimum of 1 flight per week.
