Member Challenges

 

Take part in the SCAC Member Challenges for the fun of flying, and of course, bragging rights.

 

MEMBER CHALLENGES

During the course of the year, the Sunshine Coast Aero Club will hold a series of monthly member challenges, where members can compete as a personal challenge.

Each month there is a prize and points will be awarded for the winner and participation!

At the end of the year, the pilot with the highest overall score receives a trophy at the Annual Wings Presentation Dinner and bragging rights!
Most competitions will be of 30-60 minute duration.

For those just learning to fly, no current licence is required to compete, as our team of the qualified instructor will be able to assist you.

Flying challenges are an excellent way of enhancing flying skills, maintaining currency and getting to know other members who enjoy the same challenges !

PLUS there’s an opportunity to scoop bonus points during the year . . .

MARCH - MEMBER CHALLENGE

Undoubtedly you saw it on the news….someone cleverly wrote ‘I’m Bored’ on a maintenance flight in Adelaide.
The “bored” artist is not the only pilot creating messages or artwork, throughout the world pilots are drawing planes, love hearts, leaving messages and even signing their own work on return flights.

This months MEMBER CHALLENGE is to get creative and spell out “SCAC”

How do I participate:

1. Download the Cloud Ahoy app to track your flight path,

2. Plan your flight and your route

3. Pre-flight, brief, tips and tricks from on of our qualified instructors,

4 . Take flight and spell out ‘SCAC’ above 2500’

5. Take a screenshot of your flightpath and post it on Facebook and/or Instagram, be sure to tag us and use, #iflySCAC

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Do I need to be a member of the Sunshine Coast Aero Club ?

NO – Everyone can participate in the challenges, that’s all part of the fun. Points and entry in the overall competition will only be awarded to current Flying Members.

Can I Cost Share / Fly with another member ?

YES – Points will be to allocated to each Flying Member / pilot who posts evidence of them having completed a challenge.
