Sunday 7th April 2013 - Sunshine Coast Aero BBQ

Sunshine Coast Aero Club congratulates Jett Barnes who on his 15th Birthday, went solo in our club Tecnam. This is even more special for the club as at 15 (the earliest age a student can go solo) Jett achieved this in Class D controlled airspace which is a first in Australia. After passing a series of exams and showing our instructor Allan Dalrymple that he has mastered the necessary skills to fly safely, Jett undertook his solo flight. The Suncoast Daily newspaper came along to see what all the fuss was about and the story about Jett’s flight made the paper the very next day. Training continues now as Jett has his sights set on joining the Air Force. To Jett, a very big congratulations from all the members of the Sunshine Coast Aero Club. We are very proud of you.
